The w114 models (6 cylinders) / W115 (4 cylinders) were introduced in 1968 (/ 8) as a model that positions itself in the intermediate class of Mercedes. It has a timeless design by Paul Bracq. The coupe versions were introduced in the year following the launch of the saloon version, featuring a longer boot lid and available with either a 2.5 or 2.8 litre six-cylinder engine. The pillarless design allowed all the windows to be lowered completely for open air motoring. In total, just 67,048 coupés were manufactured.
The model hereby presented is one of only 3,942 in the high-end version of phase 2 (1973/1976), with a 182 HP engine, automatic transmission, front and rear electric windows and original air conditioning.
Registered new in Switzerland in 1974, it was imported into Portugal in 1981, where it has remained to date. With 133,000 km, proven by the maintenance records and periodic inspections (MOTs), with matching numbers and colours, it has been completely overhauled to its original state, and in an faultless state.
It is a fantastic car to drive, comfortable, with good performance and all the amenities of a modern car.
