Toyota with the MR2 (means 'Midship Runabout 2-seater) first generation (W11), launched in 1984, aimed to produce a sports car of low weight, low consumption and excellent performances.

The car was designed to be a sporty and fun car to drive. It had the help of Lotus in its initial development phase in the design of the suspensions. It has been extensively circuit-tested for the best handling and tuning.

It was the “car of the year” in Japan in 1984/85 winning the award to its competition of the time as the Honda CR-X

With the engine developing 124 HP, 16 valves, double camshaft, 1.6L 4-cylinder mounted in front of the rear axle, with 4-wheel disc brake, 5-speed gearbox and weight of 977kg balanced  44:56 (F/ T), the Toyota MR2 had everything to become a benchmark car. Capable of doing 0-100km/h in about 8s, the performance and on-road performance were close to much more expensive ranges produced at the time.

The present car was built in 1986 and originally sold in Germany. Imported in 2020 to Portugal. Presents the original color SUPER SILVER METALLIC, it has undergone high quality spot restoration. Mechanically revised, it is in pristine condition.
