Mercedes SEC models were launched in 1981 under the new platform W126 (S-class) for Mercedes top of the range vehicles. These models remain in automotive history recognized for their engineering excellency and durability. Regarding the coupés, unlike their predecessor based on the R107, they weren’t a convertible adaptation, but designed from scratch as such, ending up being structurally more rigid than the sedan versions despite the central pillar elimination. In terms of design, it’s a beautiful car even today, having been designed by Bruno Sacco’s team marking the guidelines for all future Mercedes and marked the automotive industry until the 90s. This model brought several technological innovations, such: Belt pretensioners and in the case of the coupe a belt presentation to the front passengers, impact absorption zones, drivers airbag (option), traction control (TCS) and a whole set of equipment only “democratized” decades later .

The here presented car is the V8 380 SEC version of the first generation (1981), originally sold in Spain and a 1984 Portugal import. It has a splendid colours combination, with only 113,000 km and has undergone a general mechanical overhaul, finding itself in excellent condition with litle signs of use.
